Phew, has it really been almost two years since we released version 2?

We have been busy implementing websites for our customers but luckily we also had some time to work on the Webnodes engine...

The result is version 3.0 of Webnodes. Most of the servercode has yet again been rewritten and tweaked to offer top knotch performance. But the biggest news to our customers is probably the implementation of ajax to the backend. As ajax library we have chosen Yahoo User Interface.

YUI

Utilizing YUI we were able to optimize Webnodes CMS backend so it responds much quicker than previously using asyncrous requests, updating only the necessary parts of the userinface, unlike version 2 where the whole webpage would refresh each time you clicked on something.

YUI also allowed us to add drag and drop functionality to the admin. You can now drag files between folders, etc.

Miscelaneous improvements

• The preview feature now lets you view your webpages without ever leasing the admin.
• Improved overview of which webpages you have published.
• File upload is now working in all browsers and has been made more intuitive.
• Webnodes Admin search funktionality has been much improved.
• Webdesigners get a range of easy to use tools to design and develop their websites.
• Global systemlog has been implemented, letting admins see who has been logged in, what items was deleted by whom, etc.
