Version 1.5 was ready in january and we have upgraded all our customers to run on this much improved version of Webnodes.

After the release of 1.5. we had plans for version 1.6 and would save the big upgrade we had in mind (version 2.0) until the summer-fall of 2007. But we some time between assignments and ended up wrapping up all the improvements on our list and making the push to version 2.0.

Version 2.0 is a complete rewrite of all server code and sports a new admin interface. The system has become alot faster and alot more user friendly - which is always a top priority. Noteworthy are these features:

Admin

The Admin port of Webnodes has seen a major overhaul. Have a look here:

Language support

We have implemented different languages support - first implementation is the danish help system - since most of our customers are danish.

Speed

Webnodes 2.0 is a lean and mean speed machine! Before version 2.0 the admin could sometimes become rather slow especially for sites with many objects in the database. The rewrite of the server code has made it possible to overcome this problem.

Vidoe/flash

We now have full support for video formats like flash, avi, mpg, etc. You upload media files exactly like you do regular files, and you can even embed them directly into the editor to show movie clips on your webpage.

Favicon

Upload a favicon to your webpage. This is a new feature that most modern browsers support and we thought our customers should have the benefit of this small step of evolution.
