Webnodes is a professional cms framework powering several hundred high profile websites and also serves as the engine for several other webapps like Filecamp. Webnodes is essentially a professional bare bones framework for building advanced websites. The Webnodes project was launched in 2005 after several years in development.
Intuitively easy to use
When we created Webnodes we wanted it first and foremost to be easy to use for the website editor. So we build the user interface on familiar concepts our users would be familiar with from every day computer use. The filetree for browsing webpages... simply click to edit, doubleclick to open objects, drag objects from one folder or location to another, context aware right click menu with familiar options.
We are not saying everyone will just get it right away, but if you are familiar with with Windows or OS X then Webnodes should be easy to get started with.
Yet powerful under the hood
The team behind Webnodes have been creating websites since 1995, so when we created the framework the biggest motivation was to create a some tools that would make our own lifes easier. The philosophy was (and is) that Webnodes should essentially be a bare bones framework that refrained from locking the developer into one specific toolset, but leaving the choice open to the individual.
So we set out to create a powerful template engine based on Smarty with a set of custom plugins that let you interact easily interact and manipulate the objects served from Webnodes.
We are quite pleased with the result. Detailed examples coming soon for webmasters / webintegrators.

Right now we are implementing a few user interface changes and we will wait until these are in place before we put up screens and videos on the website, so we don't have to do them all over again in a month.
Come august it will all be in place and we will have a trial system ready, so you can even try out Webnodes for free then.
So please have patience a little while longer. All we can show you right now is this thumbnail from the UI of the current version.
